A message from ROCK RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL
The following summary is provided for students currently attending RRHS who have questions regarding transfer and eligibility for the 2019-2020 school year.
Current RRHS 9th Grader (2018-2019)
Current 9th grade students will be expected to attend their zoned school for the 2019-2020 school year. However, students may follow policy (School Board Policy 8-20) specific to applying for special permission and attending under-enrolled schools. Both RRHS and IHS will be under-enrolled for the 2019-2020 school year.
Current RRHS 9th grade students zoned for IHS will remain eligible for all VHSL activities/athletics. Likewise, current RRHS 9th grade students who receive special permission, through Policy 8-20, to remain at RRHS next year will also remain eligible for all VHSL activities/athletics.
Current RRHS 9th grade students zoned for RRHS next fall (2019-2020 school year) will sit for 365 days if they apply for special permission to attend IHS.
LCPS bus transportation is not provided for students who are granted have applied for special permission.

Current 10th grade students ‘grandfathered’ to remain at RRHS will remain eligible for all VHSL activities/athletics.
