Whittington Set to Take Over Phoenix Soccer

Shelby Whittington graduated Longwood University in 2013. While there she majored in English Secondary Education and played D1 Soccer in the Big South Conference. She obtained her National 'E' Level Coaching license in 2014 and has since coached multiple teams and individual goalkeepers. Shelby started for the U20 Washington Freedom team, was chosen the Olympic Development Program (ODP) for the district, state, and regional level while she was in school, and grew up playing for Loudoun Soccer.

Shelby has now taught at Rock Ridge High School for 5 years and loves her job! She plays adult league soccer with her friends, owns an Australian Shepherd named after Mia Hamm, and regularly coaches Crossfit at Ashburn Crossfit.
